It is not always possible to have an animal at home. Sometimes, due to lack of space or time, it is impossible to have an animal in our home. In these cases, we offer the possibility of sponsoring one of our dogs or cats. Your name will appear on the animals fact sheet on our website and you can come by and visit it by requesting an appointment. If you sponsor a dog, you can come and take it for walks around the shelter and, if you sponsor a cat, it would be delighted for you to come keep it company.

How to sponsor an animal

To sponsor an animal all you have to do is fill in the form at the bottom of this page. In a few days we will send you a welcome email and send you the invoice for the current month. Once you have received the email and/or the bank charge, you can come to visit as a sponsor. Don’t forget to bring proof of payment or a copy of the email so that we can validate your registration.

You have to bear in mind that, although you can sponsor any animal, not all dogs have the option of being walked by sponsors. Some, those of potentially dangerous breeds for example, require a specific license and, therefore, cannot walk with their sponsors. Others may have particularities in their handling or character that make them unsuitable for walking with people they don’t know. In those cases, although you can still sponsor these animals, you will be asked to walk another dog from the many that we have.

Sponsorship process

Sponsorship involves a donation of €20 per month that goes towards all our animals and remains active until you tell us otherwise. You can request a “general” sponsorship or one specifically with one of our dogs or cats. If your chosen animal is adopted, and you wish, you can transfer sponsorship to another one of our dogs or cats. For a small monthly donation you can help our animals so much.

Sponsorship, even if it is individualized for an animal, is an economic resource for the shelter in general and is used for the needs and care of all the dogs and cats we have, regardless of whether they have sponsors or not. That is why many of our current sponsors opt for “general” sponsorship for all of our animals.

Visiting hours

From Monday to Friday:
Cats: from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Dogs: from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Weekends and holidays:
Cats: from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Dogs: from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Note: The schedule may be subject to change during hot weather.

How does your sponsorship help us?

Our shelter needs resources to keep all of our animals in the best conditions and ensure that they will have a better life in a new home. When you sponsor an animal, you contribute to improving its stay in our facilities while we look for a family to adopt it. Of course, it’s not uncommon for sponsors to end up adopting their sponsored dog or cat.
