We are looking for committed people

We are in search of your commitment and energy to help us in our work, you are an essential part of the operation of our shelter.

Volunteer

We need people with a desire to help animals, whether it’s walking dogs, petting cats, cleaning the facilities, doing laundry, delivering food, etc. Volunteers are an essential part of running the shelter and require a long-term commitment to the animals. If you want to be a volunteer for the Lliga and you meet the necessary requirements, click on the form at the bottom of this page and fill it out.

Requirements

If you cannot meet any of these requirements, you can opt for the sponsorship modality, where you can come walk the dogs or keep the cats company at the shelter.

On this page we will periodically post the needs that arise to cover volunteer shifts for our dogs and cats. The shifts that do not appear as an option in the form are currently closed.

Being a volunteer entails having a high level of emotional sensitivity, responsibility and long-term commitment. The role of volunteering is essential to help care for the shelter animals and make their stay more enjoyable and happy. In order to cover all shifts and the needs of the shelter animals, volunteer tasks must be carried out on a set schedule and be attended on time.

Before filling in the form make sure that you meet the requirements mentioned above, that you have enough time to commit long term and that it is aligned with your vision of volunteering. To do this, please read our Volunteer Plan and our Regulations before signing up. If you don’t think you can make that commitment, you can opt for the sponsorship modality.

Other forms of volunteering

We often need skilled individuals to help us with the daily activity at the shelter: journalists, computer scientists, graphic designers, video editors, photographers, publicists, builders… There are many professionals who can help us grow and give us more visibility. If this sounds like you, and you are willing to commit, we want to meet you.

Animal assisted therapy.

We remind you that, although to varying degrees, all of the animals in our shelter have been victims of abuse and/or abandonment. The trauma caused by these situations, together with the stress that usually arises from having to live with a large number of other dogs or cats, makes these animals unsuitable for therapy with people, since interactions of this type could be counterproductive for both parties.
